Certified Nursing Assistant

(CNA) Course

We offer a 30-hour, in-person, comprehensive CNA course that will prepare you for success! Our dedicated instructors will guide you through the course in a manner that will teach you the skills and confidence you need to pass the Florida Board of Nursing State Exam.


The course covers written and hands-on training to ensure your success!


We offer several different times and days to work for any schedule. You can choose from:


  • 1 Week Day: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM - 5 days (Mon-Fri)
  • 1 Week Day: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM - 4 days (Varies)
  • 2 Week Evening: 6:00 PM – 9:45 PM - 4 days per week (M,T, W, Th)
  • Weekends: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM - 2 consecutive weekends
  • 3 Day Class: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM - 3 consecutive days

Phlebotomy

The course prepares the student to become a Phlebotomist. It is an in-depth course which includes theory, medical terminology, anatomy & physiology and infection control. You will receive instructions on the following:


  • Preparing the blood collection site
  • Choosing the proper collection tools
  • Handling the transportation, processing and management of collected samples


Medical and legal ethics, as they relate to phlebotomy services, are also taught.


This is a hands-on class and students will practice blood and specimen collection and the safe handling of specimens.

Electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG)

Electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG) Course

A course designed for a student who is looking to work as a Cardiology Technologist. The EKG/ECG technician is skilled in the use of an EKG machine to record the electrical impulses transmitted by a patient’s heart. This information is provided to the physician or other healthcare professions for analysis.


This course provides specialized training in the operation and understanding of 12-lead EKG equipment, running and reading rhythm strips and an overview of basic anatomy & physiology, including electrical currents of the heart.

EKG/ECG technicians obtain employment in a variety of settings: mainly at hospitals (Telemetry Department - where patients are having heart-related conditions which need constant monitoring) and doctor’s offices.

Patient Care Technician

(PCT) Course

The course prepares the student to tend to the ill or injured under the supervision of doctors, nurses and medical professionals, usually in an acute care (hospital) environment. Our training program is comprehensive and includes the following necessary skills:


  • Obtaining Vital Signs (Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Respirations, Temperature)
  • Collection and Measurement of Specimens
  • Glucose Monitoring
  • Performing Catheterization
  • Sterile Wound Care
  • Assisting Patients With Daily Living Skills (Eating, Personal Hygiene and Grooming)
  • Documentation of Patient Care


PCTs often work in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and/or clinics.


In addition to the acute-care training that is the core to being a PCT, the student must have already completed, or be currently enrolled in the Phlebotomy and EKG/ECG Programs in order to meet the education requirements of the PCT Program.


This is the final course in becoming a Patient Care Technician. Pre-requisites needed are:


  • Valid Florida CNA License
  • Enrollment in both the Phlebotomy and EKG/ECG Programs


Completion of these Certification Training Programs in Florida requires passing the practicum portion, which is held on campus, and the course's final written exam.


Once the program has been successfully completed, the student can register through the school to take the National Certification Exam.

BLS/CPR COURSE

We are a local American Heart Training Provider, and our instructors teach according to the high standards of the American Heart Association. AHA CPR training classes give you the information and the skills you need to help adults, children and infants during breathing and cardiac emergencies. We offer CPR/BLS and First Aid courses for both healthcare providers and the general public.


CPR includes the following topics along with a 2-Year Certification:

  • Adult CPR 
  • Child and Infant CPR
  • AED Usage


BLS/CPR INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE:

A One Day (8-hour) Training Session includes:*Course topics that help prepare you to teach the following AHA courses: Basic Life Support (BLS), Heartsaver CPR, AED, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens *An Instructor Manual will be given containing paperwork needed for instructing and documenting your classes. *Guidance on how to align with an AHA training center and on how to find equipment, materials, and certification cards for your classes. *2-year AHA Instructor certification upon completion of the course and follow-up steps. *Must Complete the AHA BLS Instructor Essentials Course online $35.00

(Registration cannot be completed until a non-expired BLS/CPR Card is provided)

Med-Tech

Med-Tech training is a 6-hour medication administration class. This is a hands-on course taught by a Registered Nurse (RN) for healthcare professionals who will be assisting patients in the home and/or assisted living settings. This course will cover National Standards but will focus special attention to Florida Regulations. This training program is approved by the Department of Elder Affairs.
